about

'Twilight Devouring Leviathan' is Extreme Sound Detective’s fifth release.

The title is both an explicit and abstract reference to the two main inspirations for this new investigation: 'Les Chants de Maldoror' by the Comte de Lautréamont and 'The Book of the Law' by Aleister Crowley.

The Leviathan is a sea monster appearing in the Hebrew Bible. In this specific usage, it refers to the figure of the shark that appears at multiple occasions in the cantos of Isidore-Lucien Ducasse.

The Twilight is the time between dawn and sunrise. And the wickedest man in the world was a member of Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn before founding Thelema, different phases of the same heavenly body.

Both books are filled with impressive and surrealistic poetry. They are largely cited as an inspiration by multiple artists. And, more important, both deal with our relationship toward divinity and his seeds.

Maldoror is the most fearful enemy of god. He is the absolute conscious and self-determined evil who is opposed to humanity and his creator. But beyond hate, he finds love in a rare and oddly way. And this unconventional and amoral disposition in fondness echoes the quote: "Love is the law, love under will".

'The Book of the Law' is an epiphany. It is written directly by three Thelemic deities Nuit, Hadit, and Ra-Hoor-Khuit through the body and soul of Aleister Crowley.
As Comte de Lautréamont’s book, this cryptic text is also a mystical poem and testimonial cosmogony.

The flagrant madness of the first and the empyrean trance of the second are able to induce the omission of the pragmatic spheres to the dedicated and concerned reader.

The hyper symbolism of these works is foreseen to let each individual reader forges their own inner and private interpretations. It is the mythical goal in a creative process began long before the writing act.

These volumes resonate ethereally in each other at multiple levels.
